Central Brain setup guide
Turn your first project folder into useful AI context.
Install Central Brain, activate your license, prepare a local project, and connect a supported AI tool. Your exact screens and available integrations may vary by app version and platform.
1. Install
Use the installer supplied through your authorized purchase or download instructions.
2. Activate
Open Central Brain and follow the license instructions provided with your purchase.
3. Build a project
Choose source and prepared-output locations, then prepare and index the material you need.
4. Connect
Search in Central Brain or configure a supported AI tool for project-specific MCP access.
Before you install
Central Brain is built for Windows and Apple silicon Macs; the download options below show which installers are currently available. NeuroAIgent does not publish a universal RAM, disk-space, or operating-system-version minimum on this page because project size, file types, OCR use, and release requirements can change what your setup needs. Keep enough available storage for your source files, prepared output, project state, and local vector index.
Central Brain prepares PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, CSV, and XLSX content, with metadata-only indexing for images, audio, and video. OCR is optional and depends on the build: when your build includes it, OCR can recover text from scans and photos.
Install and activate
- Download the correct installer for your supported computer from the authorized delivery location provided with your purchase.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen operating-system prompts.
- Open Central Brain and enter or apply the license information supplied through the purchase process.
- Store your receipt and license details somewhere secure. Do not share a license key in screenshots, public posts, or ordinary support email.
If your download or activation instructions are missing or do not work, visit Central Brain Support. Never send a full license key unless support gives you an approved secure method.
Create your first local project
- Choose a focused source folder. Begin with one project whose files you understand so you can evaluate the resulting search context.
- Choose prepared-output storage. Use a location you control, keep it separate from the source folder, and include both locations in your backup plan.
- Prepare the files. Central Brain converts supported content into AI-ready material while preserving source information where available.
- Review the result. Resolve failed or unsupported files before relying on the project for important work.
Your source files, prepared output, project state, local vectors, project memory, and bundled MiniLM embeddings stay on storage you choose in the default project workflow. Central Brain contacts Keygen for activation and a license check every 14 days, and runs air-gapped in between (Team and Enterprise plans can get a build with no online check); Keygen receives licensing and device data, not documents. Connected AI tools receive the context they retrieve, and optional cloud services receive selected material only when you configure and use those connections.
Index and test the project
- Run the project’s preparation and indexing workflow.
- Let the current operation finish, or use the app’s resume controls if an operation was interrupted.
- Search for a fact you already know is present in the source material.
- Inspect the returned source path, page, and chunk details where available to confirm the context came from the expected file.
- As the project changes, process new and changed files instead of rebuilding unchanged material unnecessarily.
Connect a supported AI tool
Central Brain provides project-specific MCP setup for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and the ChatGPT desktop app (Chat, Work and Codex modes). Availability and setup steps differ by platform, product version, and the connected tool.
- Select the Central Brain project you want the AI tool to access.
- Use Central Brain’s connection or MCP setup workflow for the supported tool.
- Complete any configuration steps shown for that tool, then restart it if instructed.
- Ask a narrow test question and verify the retrieved source trail before expanding the workflow.
Central Brain supplies relevant project context; the connected AI system generates the response. Review important outputs against the original sources.
Move a license to another computer
Each key activates one computer at a time. Before replacing, repairing, or retiring that computer, use Central Brain’s deactivation control if your installed version provides one. After deactivation, install Central Brain on the supported replacement computer and activate the same key. Moving the app does not copy your projects, so separately back up and restore your source files, prepared output, configuration, and project state.
If the old computer is unavailable or deactivation fails, email support@neuroaigent.com from the purchase email address. Include the purchaser name, order or invoice number, operating system, and a short explanation. Do not email the full license key. Each self-service license includes up to three complimentary assisted machine resets in a rolling 12-month period. A reset removes the prior Keygen machine activation; it does not add a second simultaneous device. Additional resets require manual review and may be denied when activity indicates sharing, resale, fraud, or an attempt to exceed the purchased seat count.
When transfers are unavailable
- Scheduled cancellation: transfers remain available while the subscription is paid and active, including through the already-paid period. They stop when that period ends.
- Full refund: the related licenses are suspended when the refund is processed and cannot be transferred.
- Payment failure: existing access may continue through the configured grace period, but assisted transfers pause until payment is recovered. If payment is not recovered, the licenses are suspended when access ends.
- Payment dispute: the related licenses and transfers are suspended while the dispute is reviewed. Access returns only if the dispute is resolved in your favor and Stripe still shows an active paid subscription.
Troubleshooting checklist
- Restart Central Brain and retry the failed step once.
- Confirm the source and prepared-output locations are available and writable.
- Test with a small, supported file in a new project to isolate the issue.
- For indexing problems, note whether the affected file is new, changed, removed, or previously failed.
- For AI-tool connections, identify the tool, platform, Central Brain version, and exact error—but remove credentials and sensitive content.
