**Share Brain pairs trusted computers and lets you choose which projects each can access.** Incoming and outgoing sharing are separate. Connecting to another computer does not automatically share your own library back. Ordinary sharing between two computers does not require Fleet Mode.

Use sharing when another approved computer needs access to selected project knowledge. Keep the project owner, recipients and purpose clear before allowing access. The revised navigation places Share Brain in the left sidebar; availability and navigation depend on the installed release.

## Start with a trusted computer and a specific project

1. Pair only computers whose owners and access you trust.
2. Choose the projects the other computer may access. Review incoming and outgoing sharing separately.
3. Test with harmless content and verify that unrelated projects are absent.
4. Review the permissions again when project ownership, recipients or approved sources change.

## Separate reading memory from contributing notes

An approved device can be given permission to recall shared project notes. Contributing notes is a separate permission. Personal memory remains separate from this shared project record.

Remote contributions append supported notes. They do not authorize general editing, deletion or remote compaction. The project owner remains responsible for reviewing shared decisions and keeping the brief consistent. Local memory-management capabilities should not be inferred to apply to remote devices.

## Choose between a connection and a portable copy

An encrypted portable project copy lets another computer open approved project knowledge. A snapshot is a point-in-time copy; supported shared-folder synchronization is a different workflow. Confirm which mode you are using rather than assuming every copy stays live.

Private profile keys and provider credentials do not travel with the copy. Configure any assistant or provider separately on the receiving computer and confirm its data handling before retrieving sensitive context.

## Share Brain and Fleet Mode solve different problems

Use [Fleet Mode Preview](https://neuroaigent.ai/central-brain-answers/fleet-mode-preview/) only when you want supported task delegation. It is not a prerequisite for pairing or ordinary two-computer sharing.

| Need | Feature | Boundary |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Access selected project knowledge | Share Brain | Explicit project permissions on trusted computers. |
| Recall or contribute shared notes | Shared project memory | Read and append permissions are separate; personal memory stays separate. |
| Move approved project knowledge | Portable copy | Encrypted copy; profile keys and provider credentials excluded. |
| Delegate supported document preparation | Fleet Mode Preview | Owner-controlled jobs on trusted workers; indexing stays with the owner. |

## Common questions

### Does connecting share all of my projects back?

No. Incoming and outgoing sharing are explicit. Another computer sees only the projects shared with it.

### Can a remote device delete notes or compact the shared project?

Remote contribution permission allows supported note appends, not general editing, deletion or remote compaction.

### Do two computers need Fleet Mode to share a project?

No. Share Brain handles ordinary project sharing. Fleet Mode is a separate advanced preview for delegated document preparation.
